Slack - Keeping contact

SLACK is a communication platform designed to combine email and chat, thus enabling communication between GSGS members. Conversations are divided into topics through different “channels” and you can join them depending on your interests. Joining the workspace is voluntary and free of charge. Below, we have listed the steps for registration. For more information see also slack.com .

The GSGS has decided to offer SLACK to its doctoral candidate members. It is intended to be used between GSGS doctoral candidates as a way to support each other during your time as doctoral candidates by offering advice, solidarity, and a safe place to share thoughts. It is not an official means of communication between the GSGS and its members and supervisors do not have access.

We currently use the free version of SLACK, which means that up to 10,000 messages are stored for the entire workplace. Older messages are deleted. Even the shortest “ok” counts as a message. Should you receive any information you might need later, copy it to another medium.

SLACK can e.g. be used to (the appropriate channel in brackets):

If you have a suggestion for another channel, please post a message with the name and a proposed description in #general. The GSGS Council has the right to open new channels.
